An advocate for all force free training. No prong, pinch, choke, and electric collars, I train without pain!

I propose the annihilation of inhumane and barbaric puppy mills in the state of Pennsylvania and the U.S.A.!

Why I became the dog trainer I am today?

I hate to say it, I was once employed by a compulsion trainer (a dog trainer who uses pain and intimidation by using the prong, choke or electric collars). All I can say is, it just didn't feel right to me. I never trained any of my dogs using inhumane and outdated collars.

I watched as the trainer repeatedly tortured one dog after the other. I observed in horror as little puppies and fearful dogs completely shut down (learned helplessness). Every dog, no matter the age or the breed, received a prong collar. The trainer claimed she was simulating how mother dogs teach their young. As ignorant as she had been, watching her became my blessing- in- disguise.

That blessing came in the form of meeting Carla Papciack-Glatts. I got to work with her while volunteering at A.I.D, an animal rescue group in Coopersburg, PA. I’d never met so many beautiful, sharing, and caring individuals in one place. Carla invited me to go to Southern Utah to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Society. You may have seen their show "Dog Town" on the National Geographic Channel. They offered dog handling classes, so I planned a trip. In Utah, I got to meet some very real and inspiring dog trainers. The experience sent me into a whirlwind. This was the direction I wanted to follow for the rest of my life. Talk about an" Ah-ha!" moment! I especially remember my third visit to Best Friends to volunteer and to take more classes. I was the first volunteer allowed to walk a Katrina rescue named Vivian. I’m not sure why I cried, but I cried like a baby, vowing never to use compulsion to train another dog as long as I lived. I would be the most compassionate and educated dog trainer I could be. I have never looked back! The key was knowledge. It was like a drug I had to have. The more I knew, the more I needed to learn. Even years later I'm still reading books, attending seminars and workshops. I don't think I'll ever stop learning.

I trained and volunteered at a dog training center at Y2K9's in Wyndmoor (now Willow Grove), PA. I’m not sure how I found the time, but I also managed to volunteer at Last Chance Ranch in Quakertown.

My life has been blessed with many dogs. I owe it to them to help other dogs learn to be the best they can be. I currently live with a 3-year-old rescue named Mizz Ziva a Lab & Greyhound mix. She was a very fearful puppy found in a ditch in Wilson, North Carolina. Mizz Ziva has earned her Expert Trick Dog (ETD) Title. Ziva is a Certified Therapy Dog with Therapy Dog International. We also train for Nose work, RallyO, Rally FREe and just recently Agility for fun.

As the proud owner of Molasses Creek Dog Training, LLC, I train without pain! Let me help both you and your dog! You will be worthy of the love and devotion they live to give!
